power is everything
The SSC Tuatara will use a dual overhead camshaft 6.9 liter twin-turbo V8 that will redline at 9,200 rpm and deliver 1,350 hp (1,007 kW) and 1,042 lb·ft (1,413 N·m) on 91RON rated unleaded petrol. The car will weigh 2,750 pounds (1,250 kg) due to a carbon fiber construction (including the wheels), and aluminium crumple zones. This means it will manage a power-to-weight ratio of 1,125 hp (839 kW) per tonne. The Tuatara is estimated to achieve 0–62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.5 seconds and the top speed is an estimated 276 miles per hour (444 km/h). To become the world's fastest production car, the final production version of the Tuatara will have to beat the 267.856 miles per hour (431.072 km/h) set by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport in 2010.
